Terms of Service

1. Who we are and agreement
Japan for Less (the app and this website) is provided by Triton 3 Studio, LLC, {{address}} (“we”). By using Japan for Less, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Japan for Less.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to consent to data processing where you live (for example 16 in parts of the EU, 14 in mainland China without guardian consent). Japan for Less is not directed at children under 13.
3. No account
Japan for Less has no accounts. Your trip and refund details are kept on your phone, and deleting the app deletes them.
4. The service and changes
We may improve, change or stop features. Japan for Less is free, and there are no paid plans or in-app purchases.
5. Payments
We don’t charge you. Coupons are free. When you buy an offer (an eSIM, card or insurance) from a seller we link to, you buy it from that seller on their terms, and the seller may pay us a commission. Tax refunds are paid by the shop or its refund company, never by us; we never handle your money or take a cut of your refund.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t break the law, infringe others’ rights, upload malware, overload or probe our systems, scrape at scale, resell access without permission, or use Japan for Less to create content that is illegal where you or we operate.
7. Your content
What you enter in the app stays on your phone and belongs to you. We don’t receive it.
8. Guides are help, not advice
Our guides explain Japan’s tax-free rules, customs, coupons and travel tips as we understand them on the date shown on each guide. Rules change, and shops, refund companies, customs and airlines make the final decisions. Check important points with them. Our guides are not legal, tax, medical or financial advice. We don’t guarantee that you will receive a refund, a discount or any amount the app estimates.
9. Our intellectual property
Japan for Less, its software, design and brand belong to Triton 3 Studio, LLC or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it under these Terms. (For the mobile apps, this is the end-user license; app store terms also apply, and the store is not responsible for Japan for Less.)
10. Third-party services
Japan for Less links to shops, coupon issuers, refund companies and sellers of offers. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their products, prices, refunds or service.
11. Disclaimers
Except as required by law, Japan for Less is provided “as is”. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain disclaimers; where they don’t, they don’t apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to US$50. Nothing limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights in Japan, the EU/UK and China.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Japan for Less at any time by deleting the app. We may block access to our services for misuse that breaks these Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes

15. Changes to these Terms
We’ll post changes with a new effective date and, for material changes, tell you in the app in advance.

Languages
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are published in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Thai. If the versions differ, the English version governs, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
